The present invention relates to a novel tripeptide, expressed by the following formula 1, and to a cosmetic composition comprising same as an active ingredient for preventing skin aging, reducing skin wrinkles, whitening, and anti-inflammation. According to the present invention, the tripeptide exhibits wrinkle-preventing effects due to the inhibition of MMPs, which are collagen-degrading enzymes, and the effect of enhancing the production and biosynthesis of collagen. Also, the tripeptide exhibits a whitening effect, such as preventing skin-pigmentation phenomena, through the effect of inhibiting tyrosinase activity and the inhibition of melanin production, and the tripeptide exhibits an inflammation-suppressing effect. Thus, the tripeptide provides a cosmetic which is highly effective at reducing wrinkles, whitening, and preventing inflammation. More particularly, the tripeptide for preventing wrinkles and for whitening can be used by being added to various cosmetic skincare compositions, such as skin ointments, lotions, creams, foundation, essences, gels, packs, foam cleansers, body oils, lipstick, mascara, makeup bases, or soaps. Also, the tripeptide has the properties of not being a skin irritant and having excellent stability on the skin. Formula 1: R1-X-Leu-Phe (wherein, in formula 1, R1 is an alkenyl group selected from among hydrogen or an acyl group having 1 to 18 carbon atom(s) comprising at least one double bond.
