PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grip for an artificial joint surgical instrument, which has excellent grip performance and can be used safely for a long period of time, and a shell positioner.SOLUTION: A grip 1A for an artificial joint surgical instrument comprises: a grip stopper 2 having a grip stopper body part 21, a flange part 22, and grip stopper through holes 23 a grip body part 3 made of a synthetic resin a rod 4 having a rod body part 41, a base end part 42, and a recess 43 and pins 5. Both end parts of the pin 5 in a longer direction is inserted into the grip stopper through hole 23, and a part of an outer peripheral surface 51 located at the central part of the longer direction is accommodated in the recess 43.
