The present invention relates to the synthesis of l-amino-3,5-dimethyladamantane ("memantine") and its hydrochloric acid salt form. In particular a new intermediate (N-chloro-acetylamino-3,5-dimethyladamantane) for the synthesis of memantine as well as a new process for the preparation of memantine and its hydrochloric acid salt form using said intermediate is disclosed.Даний винахід стосується синтезу 1-аміно-3,5-диметиладамантану ("мемантину") і його гідрохлориду.Зокрема, описана нова проміжна сполука (N-хлорацетиламіно-3,5-диметиладамантан) для синтезу мемантину, а також новий спосіб одержання мемантину і його гідрохлориду з використанням вказаної проміжної сполуки.
