The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating disorders of lipid metabolism comprising Pimpinella brachycarpa (Kom.) Nakai extract as an active ingredient, and to a health supplement for improving disorders of lipid metabolism. The Pimpinella brachycarpa (Kom.) Nakai extract of the present invention: reduces blood sugar and insulin significantly reduces total lipid and neutral fat content in liver tissue and reduces numerical value of IL-6 and MCP-1, which are inflammatory cytokine, by inhibiting oxidative stress: therefore the composition comprising the same can be useful for preventing or treating disorders of lipid metabolism. Especially, the Pimpinella brachycarpa (Kom.)
