An implant for resurfacing bone at an implant site in a joint of a human or animal subject, the implant being configured to be installed in a recess that has been formed in the subject's bone at the implant site by removal of bone between a planned resection cut surface and a corresponding resected articular surface, the implant having a back portion configured to be housed within the recess and a front portion configured to project outwardly from the recess when implanted, the front portion of the implant having an outer surface, at least part of the outer surface of the front portion forming a bearing surface that projects outwardly from the recess when implanted.L'invention concerne un implant pour resurfaçage d'os au niveau d'un site d'implant dans une articulation d'un sujet humain ou animal, l'implant étant conçu pour être installé dans un évidement qui a été formé dans l'os du sujet au niveau du site d'implant par retrait d'os entre une surface de coupe de résection planifiée et une surface articulaire réséquée correspondante, l'implant ayant une partie arrière conçue pour être logée à l'intérieur de l'évidement et une partie avant conçue pour faire saillie vers l'extérieur à partir de l'évidement lorsqu'elle est implantée, la partie avant de l'implant ayant une surface externe, au moins une partie de la surface externe de la partie avant formant une surface d'appui qui fait saillie vers l'extérieur à partir de l'évidement lorsqu'elle est implantée.
