PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ophthalmic composition useful as an eye drops using while wearing a contact lens and as wearing solutions for a contact lens to alleviate or solve various problems accompanied by eye drying and the use of a contact lens.SOLUTION: This is an ophthalmic composition containing a polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene glycol or a polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene substituted ethylenediamine with a pharmaceutically acceptable thickening agent and having viscosity of not smaller than 1 cps and not greater than 8 cps at 20°C.
