PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for radiation decontamination, particularly, a simple method for radiation decontamination which prevents agricultural crops from being contaminated with radioactive substance during cultivation, and a radiation absorbing material used for the method. SOLUTION: In the method, a resin molded article containing a fluorescent pigment having light conversion capability and absorbing an electromagnetic wave with a low wavelength including radiation and releasing an electromagnetic wave with a long wavelength, is used to absorb radiation, whereby radioactive contamination is removed. The resin molded article is formed of, for example, a sheet-like or net-like body, and agricultural crops during cultivation are covered with the sheet-like or net-like body, whereby the agricultural crops can be prevented from radiation contamination.
