PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for bending a medical suture needle capable of being bent into different bending shapes by using one bending top.SOLUTION: The bending apparatus includes the turnably reciprocating bending top and a flexible belt wound around the outer surface of the bending top. The bending method is for bending the medical suture needle by holding and restraining the material of the medical suture needle between the bending top and the belt and turnably reciprocating the bending top in a winding direction and in a rewinding direction. The bending shape of the material is changed by changing the angle of winding of the belt to the outer surface of the bending top and changing the restrained area of the material. The bending device B includes the turnably reciprocating bending top 11 and the flexible belt 12 to be brought into press-contact with and wound around the outer surface of the bending top 11.
