PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a needle assembly for continuously shielding a needle body during a process of a puncture and thereafter.SOLUTION: A needle assembly 1 includes: a handle 3 which has a front end and a rear end and is provided with a neck portion for supporting a catheter 7 from the front end to the front a needle 9 which guides the catheter 7 by a puncture a needle hub which is fixed on the needle 9, is slidably fit in the handle 3, and is movable between a first position where the needle 9 is exposed from the handle 3 and a second position where the needle 9 is stored inside the handle 3 indwelling means 19 which makes the needle hub temporarily indwell in the first position and a shield body 8 which is coupled to the handle 3 and protrudes to the front from the front end for partially shielding the needle 9.
