An inhalation device is provided for delivering a delivery agent to a user in the form of an aerosol or vapor. The device comprises a solid porous carrier material, and a plant material (including delivery agent) located within the pores of the carrier material. The device is operable to vaporize the delivery agent by heating a plant material, such as tobacco, by heating the carrier material. Delivery agents that can be delivered to a user include nicotine.
