A bioadherent composition includes a first mixture containing a plurality ofreactive members of a specific bindingpair, said reactive members being bound to a ligand capable of binding areceptor on biological tissue, and a second mixture con-taininga plurality of complementary reactive members of the specific binding pair,said complementary reactive members beingbound to a ligand capable of binding a receptor on biological tissue, saidreactive members capable of forming covalent bondswith said complementary reactive members via a reaction selected from Huisgencycloaddition reactions, Diels-Alder reactions,and/or thiol-alkene reactions. A method for bonding biological tissue involvesutilizing the bioadherent composition.
