The invention relates to a haemostatic biomaterial and to a process for manufacturing the same. According to the invention, the biomaterial is made of a fabric made of cotton yarns having the fineness of Nm 50/2 both in warp and in weft, in two variants of weaving the systems: small checkers and warp rep reinforced by reinforcing points. According to the invention, the process consists in warping, passing, denting, quilling, control-metering, weaving, washing-degreasing, alternative rinsing, neutralizing, whitening with 3% peroxide for 4 h, at 20...25°C, followed by alternative rinsing and drying, afterwards the finished product is cut at lengths of 10 x 10 and 10 x 20 cm, it is collagen-treated by immersion into a suspension of collagen gel of 0.5...2% concentration, 0.01...0.1% gentamicin sulphate, 0.01...0.1% cross-linking agent, at a pH of 7.4, it is dried in the oven at 25...30°C for 24...72 h and it is packed in polyethylene-laminated polyester.
