Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for providing status information of a crown. By determining an insertion direction of a crown with respect to an abutment set through a user interface, and providing an identifier indicating status information of the crown when the crown is inserted into the abutment according to the determined insertion direction of the crown, the proper insertion direction of the crown can be determined without additional operations. The provided identifier can be divided into a plurality of areas for providing status information showing undercut degrees of the abutment and contact degrees with an adjacent tooth. Each of the areas changes at least one external expression among colors, shapes, sizes, areas, the thickness and the stress, thereby providing status information of the crown to a user intuitionally.크라운 상태 정보 제공 장치 및 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명은 사용자 인터페이스를 통해 설정된 지대치에 대한 크라운의 삽입 방향을 판단하고, 판단된 크라운의 삽입 방향에 따라 크라운을 지대치에 삽입했을 때 크라운의 상태 정보를 나타내는 식별자를 제공함으로써 추가적인 동작 없이 크라운의 적절한 삽입 방향을 결정할 수 있다. 이때, 제공되는 식별자는 크라운에 대한 지대치의 언더컷 정도 또는 크라운과 인접치와의 접촉 정도를 나타내는 상태 정보를 제공하기 위한 복수의 영역으로 구분될 수 있으며, 복수의 영역 각각은 색상, 모양, 크기, 면적, 굵기, 강조 중 적어도 하나의 외형적인 표현을 변경함으로써 직관적으로 크라운의 상태 정보를 사용자에게 제공할 수 있다.
