The present invention relates to an absorbent article which restrains the skin from feeling sticky in a case where the skin comes into contact with an absorber having absorbed a body fluid. The absorbent article has a liquid-permeable front surface sheet, a liquid-impermeable back surface sheet, and an absorber (13) disposed between the front surface sheet and the back surface sheet. The absorbent article includes a groove portion (21) entirely or partly composed of a recessed portion (21r), the recessed portion (21r) being formed on the front surface sheet side of the absorbent article by integrally joining the front surface sheet and the absorber (13) together, and a flat portion (24a) enclosed by the groove portion (21). A diameter (R1) of a maximum inscribed circle inscribed in the flat portion (24a) is at least five times and at most 20 times as large as a width of the groove portion (21) along a radial direction of the maximum inscribed circle. The recessed portion (21r) includes a compressed portion and a depressed portion formed by forming the compressed portion to lower the absorber located near the compressed portion.
