PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide surgical forceps for sealing and dividing tissue.SOLUTION: Forceps include first and second shafts, each having a jaw member disposed at a distal end of the shaft. At least one of the jaw members is moveable from an open position to a closed position for grasping tissue between the jaw members. At least one of the jaw members is configured for reciprocation of a blade through the jaw member. A trigger assembly includes a trigger and at least one linkage mechanism coupled to the trigger and to the blade such that rotation of the trigger translates the blade between the retracted position and the extended position.
