The methods and compositions of this invention relateto a skin cleansing composition comprising: (a) a lowmolecular weight, non-crosslinked, linear acrylic copolymerderived from at least one first monomeric component selectedfrom the group consisting of (meth)acrylic acid and at leastone second monomeric component selected from the groupconsisting of one or more C1 to C9 alkyl (meth)acrylates,wherein the low molecular weight copolymer has a number averagemolecular weight of about 100,000 or less； and (b) at least onenon-ethoxylated anionic surfactant comprising more than about 2weight percent of the skin cleansing composition； wherein thetotal surfactant load of said skin cleansing composition is notgreater than about 9 weight percent of the skin cleansingcomposition； the pH of said skin cleansing composition is about6.2 or less； and the skin cleansing composition has a count of70 kcts/s or less in a light scattering test.
