The present invention relates to a method for processing a starting material containing organic components which comprises one or more of diapers and incontinence materials, wherein the starting material is introduced into autoclave and treated under high pressure and high temperature conditions to obtain one or more residual flows. The aforesaid starting material containing organic components furthermore preferably comprises one or more additional components selected from the group of sludge, in particular sludge from a wastewater purification plant, organic waste digestate and emulsifiers.
