A lighting control method for developing lighting for multiple users, comprising: providing a first lighting having first light output characteristics for a first area in a room and providing a second lighting having second light output characteristics for a second area in said room (300, 305 ); wherein said first illumination and said second illumination are different; identifying lighting requirements of the first user for said first light output characteristics (310); directing said first user to said first region (315) using a personal device of said first user based on the identification of said lighting needs of said first user for said first light output characteristics. The method of claim 1, wherein said first light output characteristics include a first light output level that is greater than a second light output level of said second light output characteristics. The method of claim 1, further comprising providing a smooth transition of lighting between said first region and said second region, said smooth transition of lighting gradually smoothing out the differences between said first characteristics of the light output and said second characteristics of the light output. The method of claim 3, wherein said first light output characteristics include a first light output level that is greater than a second light output level of said second light output characteristics.
