PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solid insect-proofing composition excellent in residual effect, easy to use, and effective as an aquatic pest-controlling use.
SOLUTION: The effective solid insect-proofing composition in the form of block(s) is obtained by carrying an insect growth inhibitor on pumice and then hardening with cement and molding. In this composition, the insect growth inhibitor is preferably a juvenile hormone-like compound, especially pyriproxyfen, and as the cement, neutral cement is preferable. By setting the block(s) in an aquatic system, aquatic pests including fly, midge and black fly can be controlled effectively.
