Provided are methods for the treatment or prevention of microbial infections (e.g., bacterial infection) in which the underlying pathology involves a PNAG-expressing microbe (e.g., PNAG-expressing bacteria). The methods of the invention generally involve administering to the subject an effective amount of an antibody that specifically binds to PNAG.
