Disclosed are compositions and methods for providing a modified single dose all blood approach to cardioplegia and reanimation. The disclosed method of preserving a heart comprises of administering a cardiac arrest induction solution to the blood of a subject, perfusing the heart with the blood containing the cardiac arrest induction solution, and reanimating the heart with a cardiac reanimation solution. The cardiac arrest induction solution disclosed herein consists essentially of Potassium, a calcium channel blocker, a sodium channel blocker, and a free radical scavenger, while the cardiac reanimation solution comprises of calcium channel blocker and one or more of a sodium channel blocker, a beta receptor blocker, potassium, and a buffer.Linvention concerne des compositions et des procédés pour une approche monodose modifiée, entièrement sanguine, de la cardioplégie et de la réanimation.
