A synergistic antimicrobial composition comprising: (a) a hydroxymethyl-substituted phosphorus compound selected from the group consisting of tetrakis(hydroxymethyl)phoshponium salts and tris(hydroxymethyl)phosphine and (b) tris(hydroxymethyl)nitromethane.La présente invention concerne une composition antibactérienne à effet synergique comprenant : (a) un composé phosphore à substitution hydroxyméthyle choisi dans le groupe constitué par des sels de tétrakis(hydroxyméthyl)phoshponium et la tris(hydroxyméthyl)phosphine et (b) du tris(hydroxyméthyl)nitrométhane.
