PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an autoinducer-2 inhibitor which has activity of inhibiting autoinducer-2 and is effective, e.g., for preventing and treating infectious disease.SOLUTION: The autoinducer-2 inhibitor comprises ellagic acid or its salt as an active ingredient. As the concrete examples of infectious disease, the infectious disease in the oral cavity, the skin, the vagina, the digestive (GI) tract, the esophagus, the airway or the like can be mentioned.
