FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: invention refers to an ophthalmic product represented by a sealed and sterilised package comprising a packaging solution and a soft hydrogel contact lens immersed in the packaging solution. The soft hydrogel contact lens comprises a polymer matrix, a first leaching polymeric lubricant and a second leaching polymeric lubricant, wherein the second leaching polymeric lubricant has an average molecular weight at least 3 times greater than the average molecular weight of the first leaching polymeric lubricant. The packaging solution contains approximately 0.1 wt % to approximately 1 wt % of a hydroxyl-containing polymer increasing the viscosity and specified in the group consisting of hydroxymethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, and mixtures thereof, polyethylene glycol having a molecular weight of 400 or less, α-oxo-polyatomic acid or a salt thereof in an amount sufficient to provide a reduced oxidative degradability of polyethylene glycol in the packaging solution with the viscosity from approximately 2.0 to approximately 8.0 cps at 25°C, one or more buffer agents in an amount sufficient to provide a pH of the solution equal to 6.0 to 8.0, and wherein the packaging solution has an osmolality from approximately 200 to approximately 450 mOsm/kg.
