An anti-tip wheel (6) for a wheeled vehicle, particularly a mobility scooter, that is provided with means to drive it to prevent the vehicle from becoming beached upon its contact with the ground or an obstruction. The assembly containing the anti-tip wheel may pivot upon the anti-tip wheels contact with an obstruction such that an idler wheel (8) held against the anti-tip wheel engages with a drive wheel (4) of the vehicle, such that the anti-tip wheel is driven by the drive wheels motion, propelling the vehicle off the obstruction. Lensemble comprenant la roue anti-basculement peut pivoter au moment du contact de la roue anti-basculement avec un obstacle, de sorte quune roue intermédiaire (8) maintenue contre la roue anti-basculement entre en prise avec une roue motrice (4) du véhicule, la roue anti-basculement étant entraînée par le mouvement de la roue motrice et détournant le véhicule de lobstacle. En variante, la roue anti-basculement peut être entraînée par un arbre dentraînement, une courroie ou encore comporter un moteur indépendant.
