PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper, allowing a care giver to easily recognize, with high certainty, that upper and lower fastening parts provided right and left are made to engage engaged parts while being pulled to each other in crossing directions to come close to each other, and to provide a technique concerning the same.SOLUTION: The upper fastening part 12 and the lower fastening part 13 of this disposable diaper respectively include: base material sheet parts 121, 131 and engaging elements 122, 132 provided on the skin surface sides of the base material sheet parts 121, 131. The base material sheet part 121 of the upper fastening part 12 is provided with an upper reference line 123 extending diagonally upward with respect to the lateral direction X from the proximal end side of the base sheet part 121 toward the distal end.
