PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod allowing a guide member to be firmly attached to a rod without requiring skill or time, and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: The fishing rod 1 includes: the guide member 9 having a leg part 11 fixed to the outer periphery of the rod 7 for guiding a fishing line a plate-shaped member having a first surface 22 and a second surface 23, and having a first through-hole 25 penetrating from the first surface 22 to the second surface 23 and a strip-shaped member 31 to be wound around the outer peripheral surface of the rod 7 with the leg part 11 of the guide member 9 pressed in the direction of the inner circumference of the rod 7. The strip-shaped member 31 includes a first end part 32 fixed to the strip-shaped member 21, and a second end part 33.
