An implant for the stabilization of bones or vertebrae is provided, the implant (1) being a solid body comprising a longitudinal axis (L) that defines a longitudinal direction and comprising a flexible section that has a surface and has a length (1) in the longitudinal direction wherein the flexible section comprises at least one cavity (12) located near the surface and having a width (w) in the longitudinal direction that is smaller than the length of the flexible section, wherein the at least one cavity is connected to the surface through at least one slit (13) and wherein a width (ws) of the slit in the longitudinal direction is smaller than the width (w) of the cavity.
