The baseplate component 20 has an opening that extends therein from a proximal end toward a distal end thereof. The axle component 40 has a shaft portion receivable within the opening of the baseplate component 20 and an axle 46 connected to the shaft portion that extends transverse to a longitudinal axis of the shaft portion. The system 10 also includes a femoral assembly 14 that includes a distal femoral component 100 having condylar portions and an intercondylar portion disposed between the condylar portions. The intercondylar portion includes a bearing surface that defines a recess configured to rotatably receive the axle 46 for articulation therewith.
