To provide an additive containing carboxymethylated cellulose nanofiber that forms water dispersion with high transparency.SOLUTION: An additive containing carboxymethylated cellulose nanofiber in which degree of crystallization of cellulose type I is 60% or more, degree of carboxymethyl substitution is 0.50 or less, and transmittance of light having the wavelength of 660nm in the case of water dispersion having solid content of 1%(w/v) is 70% or more.
