An isolated human antibody or functional fragment thereof, comprising an antigen binding region that is specific for mesothelin of SEQ ID NO: 370, wherein said antibody or functional fragment thereof recognizes a mesothelin epitope that is not masked by the cancerous antigen 125 (CA125) and wherein said antibody or functional fragment thereof is internalized within cells expressing mesothelin and has an antigen binding region, in which the antibody binding region includes an HDCR1, HCDR2, HCDR3, LCDR1, LCDR2 and LCDR3 in which: a) HCDR1 is SEQ ID NO: 5, b) HCDR2 is SEQ ID NO: 39, c) HCDR3 is SEQ ID NO: 71, d) LCDR1 is SEQ ID NO: 103, e) LCDR2 is SEQ ID NO: 133 and f) LCDR3 is SEQ ID NO: 169.Un anticuerpo humano aislado o fragmento funcional del mismo, que comprende una región de unión a antígeno que es específica para la mesotelina de SEC ID N°: 370, en el que dicho anticuerpo o fragmento funcional del mismo reconoce un epítopo de mesotelina que no está enmascarado por el antígeno canceroso 125 (CA125) y en el que dicho anticuerpo o fragmento funcional del mismo se internaliza dentro de células que expresan mesotelina y tiene una región de unión a antígeno, en el que la región de unión del anticuerpo incluye una HDCR1, HCDR2, HCDR3, LCDR1, LCDR2 y LCDR3 en la que: a) HCDR1 es la SEC ID Nº: 5, b) HCDR2 es la SEC ID Nº: 39, c) HCDR3 es la SEC ID Nº: 71, d) LCDR1 es la SEC ID Nº: 103, e) LCDR2 es la SEC ID Nº: 133 y f) LCDR3 es la SEC ID Nº: 169.
