The invention relates to medicine, and specifically to a method for preventing and/or treating diseases related to a reduced density of interferon receptors, including introducing an effective amount of glutaryl histamine or of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. Said disease may be hepatitis B, herpes, a papillomavirus infection or multiple sclerosis. The invention also relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and/or treating diseases related to a reduced density of interferon receptors, including an effective amount of glutaryl histamine or of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The present invention solves the problem of providing a novel agent which is effective in overcoming resistance to therapy using interferons when dealing with diseases chosen from a group including hepatitis B, herpes, and papillomavirus infection.
