PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus in which a gradient magnetic field coil can be made quiet by using a general-purpose seal member without using a sealed container for the gradient magnetic field coil.SOLUTION: In the magnetic resonance imaging apparatus related to an embodiment, seal members are inserted respectively into a space between an inner peripheral surface end part of a static field magnet and an outer peripheral surface end part of the gradient magnetic field coil and into a space between an inner peripheral surface end part of the gradient magnetic field coil and an outer peripheral surface end part of a bore tube, and form a sealed space in each of the spaces. The seal member has three elastic members. A first elastic member becomes thicker as it approaches an end part on a sealed space side, and the axial-direction position of the first elastic member is fixed with respect to an external force acting toward the sealed space side. A second elastic member becomes thinner as it approaches the end part on the sealed space side, and moves in the axial direction while contacting the first elastic member by the external force acting toward the sealed space side. A third elastic member closes the end parts on the respective sealed space sides of the first and second elastic members.COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT【課題】傾斜磁場コイル用の密閉容器を用いずに、汎用的なシール部材を用いて傾斜磁場コイルの静音化を実現することができる磁気共鳴イメージング装置を提供すること。【解決手段】実施形態に係る磁気共鳴イメージング装置において、シール部材は、静磁場磁石の内周面端部と傾斜磁場コイルの外周面端部との間及び傾斜磁場コイルの内周面端部とボアチューブの外周面端部との間に挿入され、それぞれの間に密閉空間を形成する。また、シール部材は、3つの弾性部材を有する。第1の弾性部材は、密閉空間側の端部に向かって厚くなり、密閉空間側に向かって作用する外力に対して軸方向の位置が固定される。第2の弾性部材は、密閉空間側の端部に向かって薄くなり、密閉空間側に向かって作用する外力によって第1の弾性部材に接触しながら軸方向へ移動する。第3の弾性部材は、第1及び第2の弾性部材それぞれの密閉空間側の端部を閉塞する。【選択図】図1
