Disclosed are a design, a strategy, and a method for improving biocompatibility of a power supply element. In some examples, the biocompatible power supply element can be used in a biomedical device. In some additional examples, the biocompatible power supply element can be used in a contact lens. The biomedical device comprises an electroactive component and a biocompatible battery, wherein the biocompatible battery includes first and second current collectors； a cathode； an anode； and a laminar structure. At least one layer of the laminar structure has a volume removed to form a cavity, and the cavity stores an electrolyte solution, a separator, and the cathode.
