PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article provided with a leak-proof cuff capable of preventing the wearer's legs from being scarred while enhancing the standing property of the leak-proof cuff. SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1 is provided with a leak-proof cuff 5 extending in a longitudinal direction X corresponding to the front-back direction of the wearer. The leak-proof cuff 5 is composed of a stretchable sheet 51 whose surface facing the skin is made of an elastic material. The leak-proof cuff 5 has a thread-shaped or band-shaped elastic member 52 at the free end 5J. The expansion rate S1 of the elastic member 52 is higher than the expansion rate S2 of the stretchable sheet 51.
