A quasi-periodic signal with high signal-to-noise ratio containing signalfeatures that exhibit poor temporal localization is processed to identifywaveform temporal reference points that are used to provide the temporalreference points for extracting a representative waveform of a signal featurehaving high temporal localization in a second, related, quasi-periodic signalthat has low signal-to-noise ratio. The resulting representative waveformexhibits much improved signal-to-noise ratio while preserving the temporaldetail contained in the second, related, quasi-periodic signal.
