FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology. Described is a sorghum hybrid with germ plasm which endows resistance to inhibition by one or more herbicides acting on acetyl-CoA carboxylase. Disclosed is a method of producing a sorghum hybrid plant line which is resistant to one or more herbicides acting on acetyl-CoA carboxylase, involving: identification of germ plasm which endows herbicide resistance and introducing the germ plasm into an elite sorghum plant line via introduction of heterologous gene. Also disclosed is a method of identifying sorghum plant lines which are resistant to herbicides acting on acetyl-CoA carboxylase, involving: obtaining a nucleic acid sample from a sorghum plant, providing amplification primers, applying them to the nucleic acid sample of the acetyl-CoA carboxylase gene section, and identifying plants which are resistant to herbicides acting on acetyl-CoA carboxylase, where the resistance is based on presence of one or more mutations.
