In one embodiment, treating hot flashes comprises administering to the subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a transient receptor translocation channel (TRP channel) blocker or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The present disclosure also provides a method for thermal hot flashes, comprising selecting a subject in need of hot flush treatment, administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a TRP channel blocker, such as a TRPV1 blocker, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
