The present invention relates to a plant containing a plant cyclic artificial chromosome that comprises the full length or a part of a centromere region originated from a plant chromosome and a recognition site for at least one site-specific recombinant enzyme. The plant can be produced through: (a) a step of providing a plant (A) containing a chromosome in which recognition sites for two site-specific recombinant enzymes are introduced in a forward direction at such positions that the full length or a part of a centromere region can be sandwiched by the recognition sites; and (b) a step of mating the plant (A) with a plant (B) containing a gene encoding a site-specific recombinant enzyme.
