PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation composition for the skin which is excellent in a formation of oil in water type liquid crystal structure and a liquid crystal stability, having a good compatibility to the skin without stickiness, and to provide an improving means of a formulation stability of the external preparation composition for the skin.SOLUTION: An external preparation composition for the skin contains 2-15 mass% of component (A): one or more kinds of higher alcohol which is a solid at normal temperature 0.1-5 mass% of component (B): one or more kinds of glycerine fatty acid ester and 0.5-10 mass% of component (C): ester oil. Furthermore, the external preparation composition for the skin also contains a water-soluble polymer.
