PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical device featuring a new structure which is to be inserted into a blood vessel of a body to treat an aneurysm.SOLUTION: The medical device (202) is inserted into a blood vessel of a body to treat the aneurysm (201) and is a mechanically expandable from a first position to a second position. The exterior surface of the device (202) is expanded radially outward to the second position so as to engage with the interior surface of the blood vessel to maintain a fluid channel passing through the blood vessel, and an expandable membrane (203) which can be mechanically expanded from the first position to the second position in response to the expansion of the mechanically expandable device (202). The membrane (203) hinders blood circulation to the aneurysm when it is expanded to the second position.
