PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cultivation device that can maintain a good sanitary state in a tank and a method for maintaining sanitary conditions.SOLUTION: A cultivation device 1 has: a water storage tank 22 of a humidifier 2 for storing service water supplied from outside and a plant cultivation tank 31 that is provided downstream of the water storage tank 22 of the humidifier 2 and stores surplus service water that was spilt from the tank of the humidification device after supplied thereto.
