METHOD FOR SYNTHESIS OF DOPA-MELANINE (DM) POLYMER, AND COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING THE DM POLYMER AND USE THEREOF. The method comprises contacting a reactant such as 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA) with a highly concentrated salt solution under oxidizing conditions. The resulting DM polymer may be formed as a coating on insoluble particles or substrate surface.
