PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus which makes it possible to easily observe the spreading degree of the hardened area of body tissue to a low echo area below a prescribed echo intensity.

SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus is provided with a display image preparation part 6 for preparing display images on the basis of a two-dimensional map MP whose one axis is information indicating the echo intensity and other axis is information indicating elasticity, which is divided into a first section D1 below a first threshold equivalent to the prescribed echo intensity and a section equal to or above the first threshold, and for which the section equal to or above the first threshold is further divided into a second section D2 below a second threshold equivalent to prescribed elasticity and a third section D3 equal to or above the second threshold, image preparation information for preparing the display images of mutually different display forms is set in the respective sections D1, D2 and D3, and the image preparation information for preparing an elastic image corresponding to the information relating to the elasticity as the display image is set in the first section D1.
