The present invention relates to a cosmetic and/or dermatologigal composition comprising in a physiologically acceptable medium at least one merocyanine derivative of formula (1) or (2) and/or its E,E-, E,Z- or Z,Z-geometrical isomer forms: comprising specific polar groups consisting of hydroxyl- and ether-functionalities. Another object of the present invention relates to a cosmetic process for controlling and/or improving the darkening of the skin under exposure to UV radiation and the homogeneity of the colour of the complexion which comprises the application onto the skin of a cosmetic composition as above defined. Another object of the present invention relates to a cosmetic process for protecting the keratinic materials and particularly the skin against photo-ageing which comprises the application onto the keratinic material of a cosmetic composition as above defined.La présente invention porte sur une composition cosmétique et/ou dermatologique qui comporte, dans un milieu physiologiquement acceptable, au moins un dérivé de mérocyanine de la formule (1) ou (2) et/ou ses formes isomères géométriques E,E, E,Z ou Z,Z : comportant des groupes polaires spécifiques constitués de fonctionnalités hydroxyle et éther. La présente invention porte également sur un procédé cosmétique permettant de maîtriser et/ou d'améliorer le brunissement de la peau sous exposition à un rayonnement UV et l'homogénéité de la couleur du teint, ledit procédé comportant l'application sur la peau d'une composition cosmétique telle que définie ci-dessus. La présente invention porte en outre sur un procédé cosmétique qui permet de protéger les matières de kératine et en particulier la peau contre le vieillissement cutané photo-induit, et qui comprend l'application sur la matière de kératine d'une composition cosmétique telle que définie ci-dessus.
