A cleansing composition containing the following components (A) and (B): (A) an ether carboxylate of Formula (1) €ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ R 1 -O-(CH 2 CH 2 O) n -CH 2 -COOX€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ(1) wherein - R 1 represents a linear or branched C 4 -C 10 alkyl or alkenyl group, - n represents a number from 0.5 to 20, and - X represents a hydrogen atom or a cation selected from the group consisting of an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, ammonium, an alkylammonium, an alkanolammonium, and a glucammonium； and (B) an ether carboxylate of Formula (2) €ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ R 2 -O-(CH 2 CH 2 O) m -CH 2 -COOY€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ€ƒ(2) wherein - R 2 represents a linear or branched C 12 -C 22 alkyl or alkenyl group, - m represents a number from 0.5 to 20, and - Y represents a hydrogen atom or a cation, selected from the group consisting of an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, ammonium, an alkylammonium, an alkanolammonium, and a glucammonium.
