The stabilizer (1) has a telescope (8) comprising a pipe (5) in which a piston (6) is displaceably held. The piston and pipe are resiliently coupled with one another by a spring (7), where the piston is adjustable in length by screw threads (12, 13) by rotation. A locking bracket (15) is swingably held at the pipe and freely movable into a release position of the telescope. Locating surfaces (18) of the locking bracket are tightly connected by a bridge. A contact surface of a thrust bearing (17) is partially overlapped with the locating surfaces at its outer side.
