PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce degradation of CPU and HDD of a work station having a communication part for reporting an abnormality to the related facilities and to reduce the electric power consumption if the abnormality occurs during a continuous monitoring of an MRI apparatus.SOLUTION: In a magnetic resonance imaging system and a monitoring method, the electric power source of the work station having the communication part for reporting to the related facilities is suitably controlled according to the emergency degree of the abnormal content of the MRI apparatus.
