PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoacoustic measuring device and a method by which the presence of an object can be easily identified in a relatively short time in photoacoustic measurement, and the like, for measuring an acoustic wave while holding the object by a holding plate.SOLUTION: The photoacoustic measuring device includes an irradiating unit 103 for irradiating the object 101 with light, a holding unit for holding the object by the holding plate 102, a detecting unit 104 for detecting the photoacoustic wave generated by irradiation of light, and an analyzing unit 106 for analyzing a photoacoustic signal of the photoacoustic wave.
