The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating osteoporosis, wherein the pharmaceutical composition includes neuropeptide Y as an active ingredient. The neuropeptide Y according to the present invention decreases the expression of cell adhesion factors of an osteoblast cell in which a Y1 acceptor exists and, thereby, has an excellent effect in discharging a haematopoietic stem cell from the bone marrow into the blood. When the haematopoietic stem cell is discharged into the blood, the number of osteoclast cells differentiated from the haematopoietic stem cell to induce osteoporotic lesions is decreased, so that the progress of bone erosion caused by the osteoclast cells can be controlled. Accordingly, the neuropeptide Y which is the active ingredient of the composition in the present invention can be usefully used as an agent for treating osteoporosis.본 발명은 뉴로펩티드 Y를 유효성분으로 포함하는 골다공증 예방 또는 치료용 약학적 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 뉴로펩티드 Y는 Y1 수용체가 존재하는 골아세포의 세포부착인자의 발현을 감소시키고, 이에 따라 골수로부터 조혈줄기세포를 혈중으로 방출시키는 효과가 우수하다. 조혈줄기세포가 혈중으로 방출되면 조혈줄기세포로부터 분화되어 골다공증성 병변을 유도하는 파골세포의 수적인 감소가 일어나므로, 파골세포에 의한 골침식 진행을 억제할 수 있다. 따라서 본 발명의 조성물의 유효성분인 뉴로펩티드 Y는 골다공증의 치료제로서 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
